Option 1 Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open Gochu and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Read the consequences, then tap Permanently delete.
- Confirm with your password (or Face ID / Touch ID).
- You'll receive a confirmation email. The account is queued for deletion immediately and fully erased within 30 days.
Within 14 days of requesting deletion, you can cancel by signing back in. After 14 days, the deletion is irreversible.
Option 2 Delete from this page
If you can't access the app, submit this form. We'll verify your identity by email and process the request within 7 days.
What gets deleted
When deletion completes, the following are permanently removed:
- Your profile (email, display name, photo, date of birth).
- All conversation history with every character.
- Voice notes, attachments, and any media you uploaded.
- Preferences, taste tags, favourites, and blocked lists.
- Device tokens (you won't receive push notifications anymore).
The following are retained for legal reasons, in minimal anonymised form:
- Invoices & payment receipts kept for 10 years (applicable tax law).
- Moderation records (if any) kept up to 2 years to prevent re-abuse; tied to a hashed identifier, not your email.
- Encrypted backups roll off naturally within 90 days.
Timeline
- Immediately your account is signed out and disabled. Nobody can sign in.
- Day 1 confirmation email sent. Push tokens removed.
- Days 1–14 grace period: you can cancel deletion by signing back in.
- Day 14 irreversible. Profile and content erased from live databases.
- Day 30 purge complete across active systems.
- Day 90 encrypted backups containing your data have rolled off.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your Gochu account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. You need to cancel that separately:
- iPhone / iPad: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Gochu → Cancel.
- Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Gochu → Cancel.
If you delete your account before cancelling, Apple or Google will continue charging until you cancel through their system.
